Top Chiu Chow Cuisine 潮州世家

Sab constantly talks about the tasty dim sum at Top Chiu Chow Cuisine. Since I have just applied for a Qooway card which gives me 10% off, I decided to invite her and her family to try it out. We started off with pan-fried eggplant and shrimp paste. This was a good starter with nice flavour and not too much saltiness.

When the Chiu Chow style rice in soup arrived, we all just dug in and I forgot to take a picture of the whole pot. I really enjoyed it as this is one of my favourite Chiu Chow dishes.

The shrimp paste and veggie stuffed dumplings were not bad, but they were a redundant choice after the eggplant with shrimp paste.

I was quite disappointed with the satay stir-fried noodles with beef. The presentation was horrible and there was way too much sauce and beef. Normally having a lot of beef is a good thing, but having 65% beef and only 35% noodles is overdoing it.

The Chiu Chow style sticky rice roll was one of the best dim sum dishes here. The bun portion was just thick enough to complement the sticky rice inside. The rice looked a bit pale in colour, but the flavour was actually not bad.

Apparently the 10% discount only applies to dim sum and not the rice and noodle dishes, but the meal was still quite reasonably priced.
